Footnotes Music Teachers

All of our teachers have successfully completed the Music Together® Teaching Workshop developed by the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton, New Jersey. Utilizing their unique skills, talents and gifts, our teachers bring their own style to each class to engage and support your child's musical development. We hope that you find your musical home with all of us at Footnotes Music.

photo Mary Ross

Mary Ross learned guitar at age six, began singing on stage at age ten and started writing songs at age twelve and continues to do so to this day.  While attending undergraduate and then law school, Mary performed in coffeehouses with local bands. When her son was born she moved her focus from law to education and spent years volunteering in the early childhood classes of a local Waldorf school, which emphasizes music and the arts. She ran a Waldorf-inspired outdoor camp focused on music and nature.  She is a member of Chris Eastburn’s Family Folk Chorale where three of her own songs were arranged by Eastburn and performed by the chorale.  She lives locally with her teenage son, her husband and dog Tucker. All four of them love singing and making music together!!

Venus Armendia

Venus is originally from Mexico City and discovered Music Together as a mother of two in the Spring of 2012, and since then she was "hooked." Venus has taken piano lessons, ballet, and Mexican folk dancing at different times of her life. She has a Bachelor's in Business Management and a Master's in Organizational Communication. She speaks English, Spanish and some Russian. She is excited to share her passion for music, singing and dancing with as many children and adults as possible.
